High end custom build suggestions #1
So I got a little bored and came up with this.

AMD Ryzen 7 1700X 3.4GHz Octa Core (Socket AM4)
ASUS PRIME B350-PLUS AMD Socket AM4 Motherboard
HyperX Predator 8GB 3000MHz DDR4 RAM x4
MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 8GB Graphics Card x2
Samsung EVO 850 1TB 2.5" SATA III SSD x2
Corsair Crystal 460X RGB Midi Tower Black Case
Corsair RM850X 850W Modular 80+ Gold PSU
Corsair Hydro Series H100i v2 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

If I were to build this I'd probably OC both GPU's and use liquid cooling to lengthen the life span.

It's good to see the VC's CrossFire and In particular, running 32GB of ram. In my views, SSDs are a given nowadays.

I've only got 100+ browser tabs open (all VMs are powered down on this system), and already It's utilizing around 9GB.

The question Is "need" vs "want". Either way, some very Impressive specs you got there.
EDIT: Typo.

It will be awhile before I am able to actually purchase a system like that but one can dream, nothing is impossible so ...

I do hope you end up building It at some stage. I'd be very Interested to see the benchmark results.

Here's mine (Predator lappy) performed a little while back:

That's pretty sweet for a laptop, it's probably rivaling my current desktop PC, I feel kinda ashamed Biggrin

Yes, but the cost Isn't too Impressive. It set me back 2,900$, of which I could've built a very respectable desktop.

But I love my lappies, mainly for portability. I have 2 Predators like this, and another 4 less powerful (they're running 16GB of ram and the GTX 1060).

For that price you could have built the desktop I've come up with Wink2 I do want a laptop for the portability, that way I can put a few things into practice rather than just going on the theory

Yes I definitely could've built one as per your specs.

The drawback for me with desktops, Is being stuck In the one spot for hours on end. I couldn't possibly do that for 12+ hours (which Is my time-frame most days). I'm the type who moves from one room to another- ranging from lying In bed, to doing the very same on the couch and then sitting upright. That's where my lappies come Into the equation.

I would prefer to move about to be honest my time sat behind desktops can range from 12 to 20 hours in one go and the effects on the body :/ it's just horrible

What do you plan on doing with something like this? 32GB of memory is a ton.
