OMG!! Thanks for welcoming me like that! I would really appreciate the help of you guys should I get stuck somewhere..

and read the rules, I shall do that right away! Wink

PS: About my intro.. I´m glad you liked it. I kinda skimmed through other introductions for a while and was worried that this one may be too long. I decided to post it anyway. Glad that some people liked it. :Mini-Smile:

PS: @Maxx
Who´s RacoonCity?

It makes a nice change to read a well put together introduction and as @Maxx said it sometimes gets quite tedious going through those half arsed introductions.

In all honesty coins aren't really that useful yet especially for staff as there is no need to purchase the subscriptions and you seem like you will be a decent member so thought I'd help you along.

As far as I know (and I could be wrong on this) membership status should remove all the restrictions from your account enjoy your membership and I hope to see you around the forums.

Well, although it sounds like they´re not much worth to you, they´re still very appreciated! Biggrin

Hmm... then either I´m misunderstanding something here or it takes something else to write pms. I´ll figure it out eventually.

perhaps @bluedog.tar.gz could clarify this? (the mention should get his attention) as it seems to be a point of confusion for just about everyone anyway

Also you need to purchase the membership from the HCshop here bfore it becomes active so maybe that has something to do with it

Thanks for welcoming me here, Netero. ^^ Well, at least you already call me "lady"... my parents and relatives still call me their little "baby-girl". Embarassing in front of friends.

I wish you the bestest of luck on your path! While I don´t prejudge people by the countries they come from, many politicians and governmental organizations (unfortunately) do. Like I have to prove my point as a girl you will very likely have to prove your point and competence as an Iraqi. I will be wishing you the bestest of luck. I´m sure you`ll make it!

I shall check them out tomorrow. I´ve also picked some of the books in the news section to read later, but not today anymore.
You too always be happy, safe and seize every second of every day! Biggrin

I hope to see you around. ^^

Oh, hehe.. ^^;;; I hadn´t purchased yet... but now I have. It should work now! Thanks for the help! ^^ I feel so dumb for not finding that page by myself..

Hello again, Aye.

I didn't know that my presence could freak you out. Maybe I should have given you a caffeine-free coffee. Wink
I just had to welcome you. Your nick contains the word Java, and you are from Germany. That would have been reason enough, but also remind me of myself 10 years ago. Or 14 years ago. (Damn, now I feel old).

Quote:Other than that I love Astronomy. I have dreamt of becoming an astronaut ever since I was 9 years old! But I´ve kinda given up hope on that one since, you know, although no one admits it, they prefer men. No matter how good I am, my gut feeling is convinced that I don´t stand a chance against my competitors. This is something that makes me cry whenever I think about it.

You are now on another path, but one with similar difficulties (there are also fields in computer science, where women are seen as inferior). So let me tell you: If you don't try, you will never get to live your dreams. So go for it.

Your gender doesn't matter at all. Wait, technically it does; but your gender is not responsible for your skills. You are. We yet have to convince everyone else that this is true (I am constantly working on it).
Let me tell you a quote from http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news...rk-718061/

Quote:As computer scientist Dr. Grace Hopper told a reporter, programming was “just like planning a dinner. You have to plan ahead and schedule everything so that it’s ready when you need it…. Women are ‘naturals’ at computer programming.”

That was at a point in time where most programmers were women. It is a funny quote, because now people are doing the same thing vice-versa by telling people "men are good at programming, because they think more logically and abstract"
Both sentences are bullshit. Neither men, nor women are naturally more talented in programming than the opposite gender.

Have a nice day.
