Everyone who says that God and Jesus and whatnot is real, remember that the Bible was written by man. Plus, have you ever noticed that some of the things that Christians do are related to Pagans(e.g http://www.letgodbetrue.com/bible/holida...oblems.php) but yet the Christians attempted to overtake Paganism correct? And if you go even deeper into this, you'll see that the bible has been edit more than a couple of times by man even once for something as stupid as a typo which resulted in the burning of THOUSANDS of bibles(Basically, it said "Thou shalt commit adultery" and is referred to as The Wicked Bible and are actually very collectible) which simply goes to show that some people believe in something false, something written by MAN not a autobiography of the life of some religious figure.

You have to remember that the authors of the Bible were inspired by God. Meaning that they weren't just ordinary people writing their opinions and eye-witness accounts. Inspired, meaning God-breathed before translated. God put the words in the authors mouths. Think of God as the author, and the men as the writing instrument for a good visual. The authors were divinely guided. Arguing that the Bible was written by man does not discredit anything of the religions people follow.

Don't you think that if it was written by the word of God that it was stay the same over the x amount of years that Christianity has been around instead of changing so many times?

Well I myself am a Muslim so I cannot speak for the Christians. Our book, the quran, has stayed the same since it was revealed. The proof of this is that millions of people have memorised the book so if someone tries to change it, they simply can't. Its impossible. And it has remained that was for ffourteen thousand years. In the original version of the bible, there are references to our prophet.

It is not completely fictional, considering that is where I found out about the paganism within the book as well as some of the other stuff I listed.

And the earlier versions would've been for the English of the time, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that there are many older texts that are translated into somewhat early English that are readable and show the inaccuracies within the Bibles we have today.

As for the second part: Are you claiming that the modern Bibles we use today differ from the earliest texts we possess of the Bible? If that is what you're saying, then I don't understand how this refutes anything I've said, because the original texts were the ones inspired by God, not the translated over thousands of years/having to make it readable to Americans modern versions. I'm not denying that there are inaccuracies between the earliest texts we've found and the one's we refer to now. Actually, I'd expect that.

That is more or less exactly what I'm saying, that there are a ton of inaccuracies within the bible. Also, no I am not using the novel to discredit Christianity :3
