Help with getting scammed by http://www.cashforlaptops.com/ 07-10-2013, 11:17 PM

Hello everyone. I recently sent my laptop in that i spent $500 on and they appraised me $130 on the site. They then lied about the condition and said it would sell for $20 as of two keys missing. The two keys were missing and you could replace them for easily $1 each. Then they said they don't press. THEY DID. i pressed them many times. Once that happened i said $20?! i paid 500 and you appraised me 130? Then i said i will call them back. I tried calling back 3 times now and they are hanging up on me. I did nothing bad and i don't know why. They stole my laptop now. What do i do? Can i sue or what?
Thanks!

If you have any evidence that the laptop belongs to you, then yes you can sue. If not, then they can easily say that the laptop don't belong to you.

They did the same thing to me man. You can't win against them. You probably didn't read their terms and conditions since it's just a quote, not a guaranteed price. I wouldn't waste your time. Just don't use them again.

But if it's just a quote then he still has the right to accept or cancel the proper price.

Yeah you need evidence its yours or evidence of them talking to you about your laptop with them saying its your laptop. Plus you should have wrote down the serial number before sending it in. You could sue them for a ton of money if you have any of that though.

I agree with Harvey, If they stole your laptop I would without a doubt call the police. Sorry for that, and hope you get it resolved.

Sue my homie. Do you have proof of ownership over the Laptop? Serial numbers, receipt, etc? You'll need solid proof.

You need solid proof before you're going to sue.
