Yes it was necessary the background was bright and had many colors such as pink purple and a lot of other things it took a lot of editing to make everything blend. Glad you liked the text. (^-^)

Alternatively, experimenting with color gradients or neutral color filters is a great way to help balance your colors into a much more aesthetic state. Because of your use of the blur tool, you've compromised any real sense of depth this piece could have had. My strongest recommendation would be to remove the crudely erased stock from the bottom-left corner as it only competes with your intentional focal.
