Just a serious question was the website more active in the past with a large community or was it always like this i'm having issues understanding what this website is aiming to be? if someone would give me some backstory and core history of this website i would really appreciate it.
Why is it so bright here?

I haven't really ever been too too active here in all honesty because my intentions with forums mainly revolved around a marketplaces for social media and gamertags, and an intriguing community. The community here was once pleasant, however, has over the years died down greatly. There never was much of a marketplace here for me so I haven't been active much here. However, the owner @oni is a great person in my opinion, and despite such little activity here, it's nice to visit this site for the nostalgia of how great it once was. Though not super active, it's still here and that's dedication.
Hope I may have answered a few of your thoughts. Welcome.

At one point in time this site was a wonderful playing grounds for the ones who had skills in various aspects of hacking. I remember singing in and laughing at all the wonderful deface pages and inspiring to be posting some of my own one day.
The I began reading all the wonderful tutorials and joining in the chat servers to learn other aspects that people were willing to teach.
After a vacation from the internet the site began to show steady interest in anime and "technology". So we are now a technology board covering several aspects of technology from custom builds to hacking to anime to gaming. You name it and we cover it here.
I would not ever consider this site to be dead, the post count may not be as high as HF, but the quality of content here imo is far better.

The community, in comparison to Hf/Lf, is quite quiet...

I don't think I can say much as I haven't been here too long, however the quality on this site compared to the mainstream public mybb forums regarding the IT/Hacking/Cyber World as long as I've seen is far much better than any other typical forum. You can much less of the spam, low quality, rep4rep, money4money type of shit.
The market isn't as active, which upsets me a bit because of the interest I have in it, however everything can take time and if one day it does every become an active sub-forum than it can also drag negative sides with it, it all depends on the members that join.
I do believe there needs to bit more engagement in forum games, awards, goals, etc - however this site's theme is unique and a major aspect to why I was intrigued by this forum.
At the end of the day, it's the loyal members which stick around (talk on discord) and keep the posts going which contribute and keep it interesting.

We're fine. It's enough that you can go online multiple times in a day, but also be able to keep up with posts.
Also, note that we are reaching our daily goals.
We're also doing fine on Discord, where you can chat with a lot of our great members! (I'm on a lot, for one)

As with every board of this nature, fluctuation In activity Is expected and as such, Inevitable.
As of recent, I'd estimate between 110-130 posts generated daily (on average). By no means Is that an Indicator of Inactivity.

I don't think so. Of course the quality has become less and less but this is my analysis why it gets worse.
Posts about hacking/networking/coding were more quality because the longer you go back in the time, the interest in "advanced IT" was more.
People wanted to learn about hacking and coding and were interested in LEARNING stuff. But now, every 8 year old owns a laptop,Iphone and tablet. This complicates things, because there are a lot of KIDS on the internet nowadays, chances they'll join a forum or whatever is pretty high. Now they don't know much about IT and will probably look like skids. That's totally fine. We all started like that some day. The problem however, is that millenials DON'T want to LEARN but they want to EARN.
They're more interested in doing damage with viruses and social engineering for cold hard cash. That's fine, but on a forum like this it doesn't really get appreciated cause the core members here usually want to learn. It's not all about getting money out of something you know, but a lot of millenials don't get that and this poisons the forum(s). After that this will cause that most threads are just questions and asking for stuff they need instead of writing actual usefull tutorials and because of THAT it's possible that the "core members" who can provide good, quality content will lose interest in the forum because they can't learn anything anymore from people so they'll move on.
Everyone, don't get me wrong I'm NOT saying every millenial or everyone is like this. In contrary, there are millenials like @"Synthx" for example that are doing their outer best to post HQ content and being friendly to everyone and I do really appreciate that. I'm not that old myself either, but I feel like the interest in IT is growing but decreasing at the same time, if that makes sense to some of you.
