So, this has always been an interesting thing to debate on, since people WILL have different opinions, as I have seen from various almost completely unrelated threads
Now, I decided to do this this way.
What are your thoughts on the following picture?


Personally I think that gun control is reasonable, since it does reduce violent crimes; Less people get to guns, less people get bad ideas... Also, it would make the law enforcement people more threatening, as they are armed, and you are likely not armed/armed lighter, since heavy arms would be expensive, as they are hard to get.

Law enforcement gets to your home after the thieves leave. Guns are necessary for everyday protection and their original purpose to protect against gov tyranny. Every dictatorship always takes away guns. First thing on the agenda.

If you didn't have guns at your home the robbers wouldn't be bothered to get expensive black market guns to rob you.
Besides, if you get the people in for an overthrow of the government, they can't kill all of you.
Dictators such as Hitler got to power because they were popular; even with guns you wouldn't have had enough people to overthrow his leadership.

Yes, you can do a lot against dictatorship. But not against one that the citizens support, since in that case there will just be another person taking over the dictatorship.

Although im not really up to date with the recent political state in America, i think they should rather work on their people, then on their guns.
Most people go nuts with guns because they lack mental stability which has passed trough everyones attention. If people had decent mental care and someone to help them more, violent gun accidents would be less likely to happen.

Also i kinda see no reason for a Law Abiding Citizen to have a machine gun in their house... a pistol is understandable but a machine gun...

I see a need for further control in the States, but not flat-out bans of all guns. The UK's system works reasonably well, our patrol officers no longer have a need to carry guns because of how reduced gun violence is.
