Got myself into hot water, need advice. #1
Hey everybody.
I went on to ebay selling "RTX 3070 B0X" for 500-600 dollars not expecting anybody to buy it. I don't have any empty 3070 boxes.
One fucker has a house worth like 2 million dollars and I have to fuck this guy over. He bought it with the sole intention of scalping it.
He's issuing a chargeback and I can quell the chargeback for now by giving them a tracking ID, which I did.
The problem is - I have to ship something out and I don't even have the box. I don't want to get fucking hit with fraud or some shit.
Ebay has the money on hold right now and it's like 900+ dollars worth of shit... after fees.
I guess I'm better off sending the money back then getting in trouble for something "illegal", but I need to know.

100% your best plan is refund the guy.

You don't think I could buy a 3070 box from someone else online and give that person the provided address and tracking?
I made sure these fuckers can't hit me with fraud. I didn't include a picture of the GPU. It's literally just the box.
The only way they could theoretically threaten me with fraud is because in the title I say "Below MSRP / Retail Price", but I mean, shit. The retail price for the box is the same as the GPU, wouldn't it be?

Ebay is always selling the "boxes" for an item. I'd look for a box and if you cant find one, then refund.

Why did you list something for sale when you didn't even have the product on hand or even have the intention with following through with the sale?
Best option is to apologize to the buyer and refund.

Honestly? I didn't expect to make it this far. Kinda stupid, but can you blame me?

I get it, when I was under 18 I "sold" a bunch of stuff and had to refund. Worse case you get a warning and have to pay a small amount in fees.

What do you think Ebay does, when someone sells an item and doesn't ship anything? They're going to refund him the money, regardless of what you do. Hopefully you learned some sort of lesson.

Fuck out of here with your condescending tone.
Either help me or don't.

Regardless of what you may think he did help you, take a moment to reflect.
