Only 1k? A tattoo is a lot of dedication, especially for only 1k. Maybe 5k or 10k would be a more appropriate milestone for a tattoo.

ice bucket challenge, I remember that, thats sooo 2014 xDDD

honestly, I dont think I'll make it that far. since I have like 2.54 posts a day, that would take me roughly 5 years.
its not only about the amount of posts, its about the time spent here and the things ive learned.

I'm assuming you're saying that you wouldn't be dedicated to this place for 5 years; that being the case, why get a tattoo then?

Based on SLs history, we're more than likely still going to be here in 5 years xD

Interestingly, only about 5 people have made it above 5k posts. Although, some of those posts might be from mergers.

While I love the forum and I've been running it almost 10 years, I'd never get any logo tattooed.

I have no good answer for that; that's like asking 'why would you paint your wall green'- because you want to.
i mean, being judgemental of someone else's life choices is easy. In 5 years, I may still be here, but if im interested in something,
im not gonna plan it for 5 years from now. also, Im not really the most active, I mean some people make it to like 3K posts in 1-2 years,
but then I think they see every post as a means to an end, and yeah. this forum is good, but. its kinda small and ............. sometimes kinda toxic?
its not perfect, but who am I to judge...?I may have to reconsider, when it comes to mind Tongue

Yeah, thats what I mean. getting to 5K posts is like a climb and you have to endure it. and I dont think you have to become the top 5 posters to be worthy.
maybe you dont want people to do that, and wouldnt appreciate people showing their support for the site in that way. who knows.
i thought about it more like a memory, but like, Im not your most loyal or dedicated member ofc, and in 5-10 years, maybe im off to something else.

Most important thing is to post about what you enjoy and not worry about the numbers. Some people have very few posts, but have contributed to the forum in other ways. I don't think anyone that got to 5000 posts did it specifically with the goal of reaching that number, or any number for that matter. Some people might shoot for Diamond, but after that it's just a number.

yeah what i meant is, its not just about the amount of posts, its if you like this place and all the things youve learned from being here,
meeting other hackers and chatting with them Smile etc. the experience in itself. the adventure. Smile
maybe 1K posts doesnt sound like much, but it is basically one year of experience, and maybe it sounds dumb but
I will maybe look back at this as the beginning years of learning hacking, and that isnt easy to replace. Smile

I can understand that. It's the beginning of a path/journey for you. That can hold it's own precise meaning for you, moreso than 5k posts xD
