Good shaving cream? #1
So I've been shaving almost every week and I got some really bad shaving cream. It's some knockoff stuff I got from a pharmacy. So my skin hurts after I shave. I was wondering what some good shaving creams brands are? I'm also open to shaving oil. Also I was wondering if anyone uses aftershave? I personally don't use it but my dad does. He says it mostly helps with infections, but since I'm young I should have no problem. Anyways thanks in advance!

Nivea Shaving Gel (make sure you get gel because it lasts a lot longer and it feels a lot better on your face). I shave every 3 days and I've been on this can for like a month and I I've only used half the can. Provides for a very clean shave. I also don't use aftershave because I have nobody to impress, but if you have a girlfriend or you're going on a date I'm sure she'd appreciate it. And make sure it isn't a rusty blade or a cheap shaver. Never cheap out on shavers or you'll have issues, buy like a 30 dollar one and replace the blades when the begin to rust. Though look for opinions by older users, I'm only 14 and I'm probably less experienced than quite a few other members(been shaving for about a year now and it sucks ass.

Thanks for the advice. I should go get a better shaver. I got an old gillette one, time for an upgrade.

I think @Oni is the oldest male on the forum so he could potentially help you out a bit more.

Pretty sure I'm older than he is iirc.

I use Edge shaving gel for sensitive skin, Gillette Sensor 3 for my body shaving, and either a proglide or a mach 3, with Gillette shaving gel for my face. Works very nicely. Minimal to no razor burn.

Just keep trying different things until you find what works. Personally Gillette seems to work the best for me, but I'm not about to claim it'll be the best for everyone.

I use "The blade's grim" It's kinda expensive, and you need a brush, but one can will last you about a year (or more, if you're just starting to shave)

(shave every day, use straight razor)

Before you cut yourself with a straight razor, buy a lot of balloons, spread the cream on the balloons, and try to get all of the cream off of the balloon with the blade of the razor without popping it. Every time you pop it, you'd of likely just cut your face.

Learned that tip at school courtesy of the barbering instructor.

Obviously do that outside.

I've never heard of that. Nice trick for practicing.

Surprisingly that makes sense!

Funnily enough, I got rid of my beard this morning (accidentally tripped the razor, so I had to). I don't know what would be the best shaving cream really, as I don't make a big fuss. I think I used some Gillette shaving cream a few days ago.
