Information about the 2 FREE Xbox 360 Games Gold Members Are Entitled To
Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi announced during the company's E3 press conference today, Xbox Live Gold members will begin receiving two free games per month starting with Assassin's Creed 2 and Halo 3 on July 1st 2013. Microsoft is attempting to address the incoming competition by slightly modifying Xbox Live Gold to be more like Sony's version 'PS Plus'. Instead of offering what they have for the last 11 years, they are now adding in two free games per month. This seems like a way to try and combat Sonys Instant Game Collection on the rivals PS3. These may not be particularly "fresh" games, but maybe Microsoft will become more adventurous in the future.
Xbox Live Gold has existed on Microsoft platforms from the beginning. For a long time, people were willing to pay the price because that's where everyone was playing games. Of course, in order to play multiplayer online you require the Gold subscription. Now that PS Plus exists though, the two don't seem to offer the same amount for the price.
This Months Today's free game: Fable 3
This will be updated daily.
As of now, Only Xbox Live GOLD members can download Fable 3 for free. To download Fable 3 simply visit the Xbox 360 market place, select Fable 3, and the payment method to Microsoft Points and click "buy", which the price set should be seen as "Free". Unfortunately Silver members will still be asked for the full price of $19.99.
I will update this with more information as it is released.
