It's far from lame reason, because it tripled your earnings for given link (assuming there were three links chained), which is definitely cheating.

I'm sure you read the rules when you joined Adf.ly and agreed to them, yet you choose to abuse them, so they did what was their right to do. Maybe try not to abuse rules next time? I mean, if this was a job and you were screwing with your boss, then it would have much worse consequences than loosing a dollar (have you tried to find some umm... actual work? Doesn't have to be full time job. It can bring you much more dollars. For example I earned 1500 USD after week of programming for somebody :3 )
