Fear of Death. 02-27-2013, 11:53 PM
#1
I was just in the shower and I started to think about what happens once we pass. I am a christian and I do believe that God is our savior ( know need to flame or talk bad about what I believe in ) but Just the thought of death really started to worry me. Just knowing my mother, my father, my whole family is going to die eventually, and then I try to imagine how would it be up there in heaven? Will it feel realistic? Or would I feel like im trapped in a never ending dream?
Please don't bash my belief system, I am no in anyway trying to push my religion on you guys. Just curious on how you guys feel on the thought of death. Serious answers please.
Dont like me? Oh well, go play in traffic.

I could careless to be honest. If you believe in God then you believe in Heaven and going to a better place. So some family will be there first but you will get there at some point.

I accept that it happens to everyone. I was EXTREMELY afraid when I was little. I remember literally crying to sleep thinking about death. Not just trying to relate here; I really cried myself to sleep. I think it is something to be afraid of, but only if you aren't successful in life. The only thing that I'm really afraid of is failure. I don't want to live a life without being successful or sufficiently happy with the way I've lived it. If you haven't already read it, I am an Agnostic Atheist, so I don't necessarily believe in an afterlife. I think SOMETHING happens, but Heaven just doesn't sound exactly right. Regardless of the true answer, I accept that it will happen some day and I just hope it happens at the right time. As long as I don't die before I've lived, I'll be happy.

I personally don't believe in a God 100%, but at the same time, I somewhat do.
I and I think that when we pass away, our brains stay active for about a couple of minutes and during those couple of minutes we relieve our life, and possibly get stuck in a never ending cycle of reliving because we also relieve our DEATHS.

The fear of death is natural it's what kept us alive when we were cavemen, it's evolutionary so everyone in some way shape or form fears death regardless of what they say and not having a fear of death would almost be inhuman.
When I think deeply about death it does make me feel a little sick but mentally I don't really bother thinking about it sense I believe theirs nothing after life you might as well focus on the now. Imagine if your religion or someone else's turned out to be true and I had to suffer the wrath of a God that scares me more than nothing.
Just my opinions on the matter.

I am not religious. I sometimes wonder what it's really like after we die.

The shower is always my favourite place to think about things, I always start thinking deep when I'm lathering myself down. I'm not that afraid of dying though. I really don't know what to expect as far as the afterlife but I just figure it's not going to be that bad considering I haven't really done anything that would put me anywhere like hell assuming that's what determines it all. The only thing about dying that keeps me awake at night is the though of dying before I'm ready. I have a few things on my bucket list that I want done before I die and I would be sad if I don't get those things done.

It's just a part of life. You can't live in constant fear of dying; you'll go crazy.
Don't talk about it, be about it.
