exactly. not a big deal to say you use or don't use it. If you didn't want to disclose it then don't respond lol

I don't, and I don't plan to encrypt until I put Debian on my laptop (I'd only ever encrypt my laptop, even then, just as an anti-theft), which should be this weekend. Fedora is sucking me.

Arguably, you're presenting your gaping asshole to nasties.
People now know you protect your data.
"What's your reason? Legality of your data? Connections with other people? Are they using any vulnerable encryption utilities? (lol truecrypt)"
They don't have to get in to work on incriminating you. And if somebody wants in, they'll get in.
Depending on where you live too (I have no idea where you, personally, live, so this may not apply specifically to you) it is mandatory to give your encryption key to law enforcement should they require access to any of your encrypted drives.
Although, nothing I say holds any ground if you're doing nothing of any illegal nature. (Or if you're just protecting your shit against people who don't know any better)
It may not be necessary to care for your opsec to such an extreme level, but there's no reason to slack off on your opsec.

Since I do not indulge in illegal and embarrassing behaviors, I see no reason to hide from the government or any other eyes.

I'm on the Windows platform, hence I use the native Encryption being "BitLocker Drive Encryption" on selected systems.

Of course, the Windows "Edition" must be supported (Pro or Enterprise for Windows 8/8.1/10). It can be somewhat confusing to those new to the Initial setup of BitLocker. When enabling It for the first time, a message of "This device can't use a Trusted Platform Module" may come up for those who don't have a TPM Chip Installed, therefore BitLocker (assumably) cannot be enabled. In simple terms, If you don't have the supported hardware being a TPM (Trusted Platform Module) chip which Is usually Installed on the MOBO, BitLocker cannot be enabled. A simple edit via the "Group Policy Editor" will fix the problem and allow BitLocker to function.

It serves It's purpose well and I haven't come across any significant Issues thus far.

Oh yes, I forgot, I do have a BitLocker VHD on my desktop PC, but there's nothing really interesting in it other than some password files and all.

Yea, if you don't use fde then you're just wrong. Despite me leaving my PC on most of the time. Laptop is the main reason though. I don't want to have my shit stolen, and then be black mailed for what they find or some shit.

Funny related thing, I was talking to a buddy of mine who just got on a 3 year cyber phorensics course, he was reading a manual or something like that and the actual procedure is to unplug a machine at the scene of a crime. What kind of mongs wrote that crap.
