At the moment, I use ScryptMail and ProtonMail. I love their ScryptMail's alias feature.

ProtonMail because it seems to be common enough. Eventually I'll prob. just switch to my own server and domain tho.

Just checked thats false. Logged into my 4+ year old yahoo. Haven't been on in 6+ months.

So have an account on Yahoo that I haven't logged on since 2012. When I finally need to log on for password recovery on a site which I have used over $200 on, I find out that my "Yahoo account has been inactive for an extended period of time and is being recycled"

Yahoo Mail has actually been overhauled. Beyond the radical redesign and the launch of a new mobile app, a big decision was taken: Yahoo decided to recycle inactive email

It's the email address Itself that's recycled and not the account, but If It's used for sensitive transactions and the like, the new owner may well be receiving the previous owner's emails- personal credentials Inclusive (If any).

When they decide to recycle a given email address, they usually wait a little while (until a lot of Incoming messages cease to transmit), and then recycle.
