I wonder what this means for PayPal. I think it's fair to say eBay is by far and large not their only source of income. It's little annoying from another perspective, since a lot of consumers love the ease of using PayPal for their shopping.

Also, eBay has been advertising for decades about how much "safer" it is to use PayPal over sharing bank/card information. While I always knew it was marketing bollocks for their own gain, it still stands as a preferable choice to those who don't want their payment info stored with the company. There have been more than enough data leaks lately to make that an even more pressing issue.

Personally, I think users should be given a choice as to what they want to use.

Definitely on this. Using a bank for Ebay payments just seems awful to me. In the end, both Paypal and Ebay will get less business, and it's an inconvenience to consumers.

Consumers (Im assuming customers) will not be inconvenienced when PayPal is still a supported Payment Option. Sellers are absolutely loving this, so I have to disagree with your comment.

Browse any Ebay Subreddit and they are talking about it.

I share the same opinion.

I limit my banking to trusted entities, and eBay Is not part of that equation.

From what I read, it won't be an option. Is that not the case after all?

In all truthfulness, I will likely never use eBay again without the option to use PayPal. I totally get it from a seller POV. However, there is no way I'm sharing my bank info with eBay xD

Paypal is owned by Peter Thiel and he's evil. They should have broken up with them years ago.
