Easy WAY to find serial No. for Thompson Routers 09-04-2011, 05:22 PM

Lets assume you have no internet of your own and you've hacked your way into a router (This works ONLY on Thompson Routers and BT HomeHub).
You want to gain access as Administrator to the Router (most Router passwords are the serial number printed on the bottom of the device, so apart from burgling the premises (Which is not worth the hassle for a SN) here is a script written in python (credit is not mine, i admit i wouldn't know where to begin) that when executed sends back the routers SN in your terminal. (You MUST be logged on to the router for it to work)

for some reason they flashed all the Routers to defend them against the default UserName/Password problem and then allow it to send the SN on request.
I tried for hours using Hydra and Medusa to crack the Router.
If this help you out please +Rep.
