Anyone here play the drums? I bought a practice pad to get some training in before taking lessons officially... I literally used it once, I think I should just start paying for lessons and it'll force me to be productive with the pad.

Anyway, how'd you get into it?

My ex-neighbor was very good with drums and he was actually self-taught.

Although It may be a little more difficult to learn on your own, If you have the passion for something, there's no boundaries.

I have actually played drums for quite a while (6-7 years or so). I started in a school band, where I first learnt to play the drumset. I also have lessons each week with an instructor. Where you planning on just playing on that pad or are you planning to move on to a drumset @OhChanada? I would say that the pad is mostly used to learn how to hold your drumstick, and maybe learn how to play on a snaredrum, and not much else.

Feel free to message me on here or on discord if you need any help or anything.

I definitely want to learn how to play on a drumset as well, but my friend told me it's best that I get my timing right early

I can advice you to tru some unusual drums. They are very good for more melodic music, light jazz or something symphonic. They called hang drums and you can find them here https://handpanguru.com. I was on several concerts, where I heard their sound, and I liked it very much
