Great idea, go big, make tons of money
Become large, bloated, and expensive
Get beaten out but by smaller, cheaper, better quality competition

What makes you think Google won't bust too then, based off that logic?

Of course it will, it just hasn't gotten to the "bloated" stage yet, and I'm not sure what the company to replace Google will be.

And I believe windows will last.

Depends on my mood, mainly I use Ubuntu though.

Good prediction, Google has been growing a lot lately. I wonder if they'll release their own distro.

But Google is worth more then Microsoft as is...
How is that "smaller, cheaper, better quality competition"?

You can't compare the worth of Microsoft to any company. Their stock is constantly between 20-30 points, while Apple's is 450+ points. The reason for that is most of Microsoft isn't in the public market, and therefor you can't accurately compare worth. But just to give you a comparison anyways, Google is currently at 723 points, and the lowest they've been in the last year is 559.

Stock aside, Google's worth well surpasses Microsoft...

They've been able to get away with this for a long time, but now with Linux growing ever more popular, do you think they'll last? I've been a happy Linux user for quite some time. The distro I use has a GUI that's better then Window's, and the performance is vastly better. The only reason I haven't completely switched is gaming support. What I have read from other gamers is the same thing. Now that Steam is finally showing support for Linux, do you think Windows will last?

Personally, I think it wont last another 10 years. (That is not a long time for Large Corporations Like Microsoft) Windows 8 completely ruined them. If they remake Windows 7 in a more XP style OS, then it will be better. Also, I will be switching to Linux in a matter of years, because the gaming support is improving greatly, as stated in this thread. Way better performance, and I could learn a thing or two coding.

Because Google is always expanding while Microsoft isn't. They're the same as they were last year, and the year before.

Google has their own OS, it's loaded onto Chromebooks.

Microsoft was never really successful of it's own accord, don't get me wrong it's very sucessful, but the reason it did so well was personal contracts on IBM's board resulting in the commissioning of MSDOS.

I probably should have added this earlier.

Also this has to do with Google vs. Microsoft:
