I have done a lot of research on blood types and I KNOW that is false. O+ can donate to any positive blood types but can only receive from O+. O- can give to any negative but can only receive from O-.
http://answers.yahoo.com/questiion/index...617AA1AZZA Look at all of the answers, especially the second answer.

Please safe yourself from using yahoo answers as a reasonable source. I posted a link a few posts up. Obviously your research is incorrect as I made sure with the United Blood Services.

Also, just about everyone that posted in the yahoo answer even said o- can give to anyone. So...

Hmm I guess all of the people who have told me that were wrong! It sucks when people are told things incorrectly so they pass down the information to others! Oh well, now I know! But O- is the only one that can do this. A+ cannot donate to A- and visa versa but I'm sure you knew that (I'm clarifying just in case!) Next time you should think about doing a double donation with an Alex machine when your local bank is really low! I do it all the time just in case but it could really really help someone if they were short! Also, you don't feel as "weak" or light-headed because they give some of your own blood back! It's pretty cool if you ask me!

That's what I did this time! Normally I don't, but they wanted me to because of my blood type, so I did. It just takes 30 mins longer haha!

Exactly and it makes you feel a little better knowing you potentially saved some people who might not have been saved without the double donation! My friend said that they actually pay his friend who is AB- (most rare type) because it's so rare! I guess they could potentially pay me too since I'm universal but I would never accept the money Smile
