I'm curious if anyone else here has played Doki Doki Literature Club before and what are your thoughts on it?

A guitarist I follow was playing it on twitch one stream earlier this year so I decided to give it a try. The first portion of the game was pretty normal and I was enjoying it then things got dark, really fast. I don't want to spoil it for anyone that plans to play it. The game had this weird creepy vibe to it unlike any other game I've ever played before and it really stuck with me even months after finishing it. The games soundtrack pops up in my head quite a bit as well from time to time. Supposedly a DLC for the game is to be released this year but I haven't heard anything else about it since a rumor back in January.

I never got around to playing it because the internet ruined it for me with mny spoilers. Won't address them all in this post because I don't want to kill someone elses experience like someone did mine.

I've played 3 or 4 visual novels from Sakura, but other than that I don't really get into VNs that much anymore. They aren't the best use of my time per say, and even though they're just visual novels I hate when they have to come to a close.

It was the first visual novel I ever played and I really got into but yeah I totally agree, when it was over, I was like damn thats it huh? There wasn't any re-playability imo. Sure you could trigger different scenes and dialogues depending on the words you choose for your poems, but the end result is the same as far I know.

I've watched friends do playthroughs on Twitch. I'd probably play it again myself, but as you said:

Spoiler:
I really liked the part where you delete files to advance the story.
