Does skype groups "decrease" activity? 07-30-2015, 09:50 PM

Hello. Just something that have been hitting me lately and that is skype groups and activity. People have the past months been complaining that skype groups decrease activity of the forums and I am going to talk about that now.
Does skype groups decrease activity?
Yes, though that is just slightly. That is because people would rather ask questions via live chats then go through the hassle of clicking a 'new thread' button. But, in the long run, skype groups are so much more worth it. Because when you communicate through skype groups, you get to know the members more, talk to them more, talk about stuff more and that will all lead back to SupremeForums. And everyone can motivate eachother, talk to eachother and remind eachother of the forum and get back to it if they ever quit. That is with any forum, of course. The owner will create bonds with members, have great memories and memories of friends you met, which is a huge aspect of why people would return or visit the site again instead of feeling 'outside' which would make you just visit the site whenever you bother or remember (which would be a long time).
Is it worth it in the long run?
While it does decrease activity, it also increases it. Sounds stupid, doesn't it? But that's because the members will stay and the community will have the activity over a long period of time instead of high activity over short amount of time hence why the forum will survive longer and restrictions of skype groups are stupid.
Is this forum doing the right thing?
Yes. They have the skype group. Having fun. Meeting new people who'd you might speak to for a very, very long period of time. And meeting others is good, you become more knowledgeable, aware and get others opinions of any matter. Other perspectives. Whilst that is off-topic, I really think groups are worth it even though it may decrease stable activity. Skype groups are nice to have and will benefit the community overall and in the end, you'd know it'll be worth it.
Debate.
