The problem is simply when religion tries to replace science and pretends like an actual fact can be known only due to divine intervention...

Sure, there are instances where religion can be used to manipulate or control people. But I've also seen religion inspire incredible acts of kindness and compassion. It's like a double-edged sword, you know?

Personally, I think it's not about whether religion makes people stupid or not; it's more about how some individuals interpret and practice it. As for being closed-minded, well, that's not exclusive to religious folks. People from all walks of life can fall into that trap. It's more about individual mindset than religious affiliation, in my opinion. And oh, about that Christian Wall Art mention... let's just say, art is art, regardless of its inspiration, right? Sure, there are instances where religion can be used to manipulate or control people. But I've also seen religion inspire incredible acts of kindness and compassion. It's like a double-edged sword, you know?

I'm not aware of any scientific evidence that suggests religion lowers IQ. However, it's important to recognize that IQ is a complex and multifaceted topic, and it's not entirely accurate to make sweeping generalizations about the effects of religion on intelligence.

Being religious in of itself, no. I admire people who practice a religion in a way that gives them a sense of spirituality, community, and meaning. What then ruins it is anyone who crosses over into being a zealot and inflicts their views or practices onto others.
