I just saw this, sadly, I lost access to my account a few weeks ago when I switched to Linux. I bought my account from someone not the company so I never got to migrate it. Might try a cracked version.

Glad to see there still are some folks around interested in playing with the rest of SL. This post is pretty well aged, so I'll give an update.
We tried this, it worked pretty well for a few weeks, then it sort of died out. Given that it actually costs money to maintain a minecraft server, the idea was scrapped.

We had a popular Bukkit server the first couple years of the site. They do cost money to run.

Pretty sure there are free options out there, but that would leave absent the ability to have granular control (bans, world restoration, mods, etc).

Around 10 years ago, every man and his dog was playing Minecraft. Accounts were very much sought-after.

I'm surprised It's still rather active nowadays.

Started playing it a bit again recently on my VR headset. Pretty surreal how as a kid I imagined what it would be like inside of the world of Minecraft and now I get to experience it. It's pretty cool to build a house and feel like you're genuinely in it.
