Why back up your drivers? I personally have a policy of only backing up the data I consider irreplaceable. Drivers seem pretty replaceable.

Yes, I know.
I'm using dell laptop, Dell have some problems with drivers like Bluetooth, All time i should install some of drivers from internet, so i kept backup of them.
Dell computer drivers are not same on different windows like (Windows XP/7/8/10).

Yes I keep backups - I have about 10TB of space on our NAS for me to use, a LTO-6 tape drive in my computer with about 20 blank tapes left, and I have a little stack of hard drives that I use. I back data up because I used to not do it and then be mad when I didn't have some files anymore, so I figure by keeping good backups that I wouldn't have that issue anymore and that I'd have easier access to my old data.

I don't keep backups, but I really should.

I mean, I don't have anything that crazy I keep on my computer. Anything important is on Github or on btsync so hopefully if anything fails i'll be able to get it back. I like to think of it as decentralized information peace-of-mind.

My Operating Systems professor lost all his shit at the beginning of the semester, though. He started backing up stuff after that.

It all comes down to how critical one's data Is, and also the overall usability of computational tasks.

If a given user simply browses Facebook and watches YouTube videos here and there, suffice to say a backup Is not warranted. If you believe you should perform backups, "do It". The few minutes spent backing up Is well worth the peace of mind.

True, true. I don't really have anything of worth permantely stored on my computer.

Should probably at least backup all my photos though. I need those so I can get drunk to my own cringiness in 10years.

I didn't use to, but after my old PC died and took all of my files with it, I decided to start backing up regularly. Anything illegal/pirated to an external HDD (hopefully setting up a NAS soon), and everything else I store on Mega, and a few online servers.

I definitely agree with photos, a backup should be performed particularly If you're personally Involved In the photo Itself.

It's nice to reminisce.

I do not keep backups. I like to live on the edge.

Back when I had a Mac I always did backups because they were so easy to do and the software is already preinstalled. For Windows, I don't actually know how to make backups. The only 'backups' I have is all my coding projects are on two cloud storage websites(One dropbox and one on my own personal storage) and also a hard drive with files. I should probably try make a full Windows backup but I feel it'll be so huge lol.
