I actually met my husband online. We weren't looking for a relationship or anything (it wasn't through a dating site), but we just got to talking and enjoyed it. Eventually we talked via Skype, almost everyday and ended up meeting up. I know quite a few people that have met their gfs/bfs/etc online and they have a pretty solid relationship. It's not for everyone though, it's damn hard being in a long distance relationship.

I have never dated online because I want to see the person face-to-face and be able to actually get to know the person in real life. I don't really trust the whole online dating because some people would lie about anything.

I used to a couple years ago but looking back now I don't think I can really call them relationships. I do currently have an okcupid account though, but most of the people who contact me are kinda creepy.

You never really know what you're gonna get with the internet, and ALWAYS look out for people trying to catfish! Someone tried to trick me the other week but I found out pretty quickly.

This question amazes me in the decade in which we live. Who doesn't use dating apps? I started using them 3 years ago - a period in which I switched through different dating sites. Currently, I'm on Plenty of Fish. A lot of people got married after meeting someone online. I suppose 1/3 marriages are happening after dating someone online and in the future, this will get to the point when each marriage or date is done online. But this will also decrease the number of singles as it will be so damn easy to find a partner in an international dating network.

You made a good point, it is becoming more and more common - This is not limited to young people either. People of all ages meet online now. I can certainly say my relationship started right here on this board.

I didnt, but lots of my friends did actually, some turned out well and some didnt. haha
