It's not really that big of an issue for me, I know they've been doing this sort of stuff for ages.

The government has it's reasons to keep anything secret from us.
I'm pretty sure they've seen us overreact to something so small of a riot. Criticism and racism start to rise because people are blaming eachother for stupid reasons. When the government finds us ready to hear the secret that they kept from us all these years, we will still be angry at the fact that the government is hiding things from the public which leads to speculations like this one.

The more "outlandish" conspiracy theories, I tend to dismiss as overactive paranoia to be fair. However, media coverage off international politics has always incited a level of skepticism in me. Have you ever seen clips of propaganda TV from other places and thought, "how do the people there even believe that stuff?". It makes me think, what if they look at our media and say the same things to themselves? How can we know for sure that we're getting the full story. If you were part of a government with secrets, wouldn't you want the people who were catching on to be branded as crackpot conspiracy theorists?
Anyway, I generally don't believe this is the case, but it's never unhealthy to maintain a questioning attitude.

Something other countries sit it awe at is the pledge. Think about it, you're having 5 - 10 year old children recite this zombie like speech with their hand over their heart every morning, pledging allegiance to a country they don't understand under a god they may not believe in. It is a form of propaganda and brainwashing, and people from other countries notice it more then we do.

Most countries are in competition with each other so if their secrets got out then they would have nothing over the other countries
