Discordianism and the Discordian Liberation Front #1
I will attempt to describe Discordianism and the Discordian Liberation Front through a simple metaphor, though I despise metaphors:

Imagine a multicolored balloon resting on a couch; several individuals surround it, some wish to leave it, some wish to let it fly, some wish to hold it, and some wish to pop it; no where does any universal rule observably exist which states that anything must be done with the balloon whatsoever. Nearby a man sits on a chair, smoking a pipe with an unknown substance in it; he does not involve himself in the conflict over the balloon, instead studying the balloon itself and the people concerned with its fate; eventually, the balloon will meet a specific fate and the participants will go their separate ways; simultaneously, everything else continues on regardless of what occurred to the balloon or anyone else involved with it.

Let the balloon represent the universe and anything in it. Wherein order denotes a way that the universe or anything in it is supposed to be and disorder a way that the universe or anything in it is not supposed to be, Discordianism represents the recognition that no inherent order or disorder exists, that there exists no way the universe is or is not supposed to be, that the individual is free to do with the universe what they want. The Discordian Liberation Front is then an organization (or, really, disorganization) working towards absolute freedom within the universe. How this intention manifests relies fundamentally on what we want. If we want to destroy each other, we may. If we want to create each other, we may. If we want to do neither, we may.

But who then is the man with the pipe? You? Me? Malaclypse the Younger? Robert Anton Wilson? Tom Bombadil? Aragorn? God? How enigmatic one can be!

Maybe he's no one in particular...

Are you Grin from HF?

The man smoking the pipe is no different than the people on the couch. Although the man seems enlightened.
He is on a different level than the people. That is why he gets to sit on his own piece of furniture,
but he is the same as the people which is why they have to share the room.
They are on different levels, but still share many similarities.
Always looking for a business opportunity.
