Recently, Blizzard announced that gamers who play the upcoming console version of Diablo III will not be able to team up with their PC friends.

Community manager Vaeflare shared the news on the Blizzard forums, before adding that the PlayStation versions of the game would not support a USB mouse and keyboard while the PC version won't be usable with an analog controller.

"While we think cross-platform play would be awesome, there are currently no plans to allow connectivity between PlayStation Network and Battle.net (this is pretty standard for most games that have PC and console support)."

"As a result, the characters on your Battle.net account and PlayStation account will also remain separate."

"In terms of allowing an analog controller hookup for the PC, we don’t have any plans for that kind of support right now. Similarly, since Diablo III for console was designed with a controller in mind, the PlayStation version of Diablo III will not support USB mice or keyboards."

If you want an MMO, you aren't entirely missing out. Diablo 3 is technically an MMO but not the kind of MMO I'd want to play on Xbox.

Bethesda says they want to try to port Elder Scrolls Online to the next gen Xbox when they can.

Diablo 3, is a pretty neat game. I only played it once but it is pretty cool.

I think that it's good to keep things separate, there would be some issues in gameplay and connecting pc's with consoles on the same platform would be messy.

Govan, you bring up a good point. It also would be somewhat unfair because PS4 players have all the buttons withing a legitimate FINGERS reach...not even, its like a centimeter away from there fingers/thumbs where as a PC player actually uses M&K.

Well pc users can use remote controllers too, but still it will be never equally balanced.
And I think that pcusers would have the biggest advantage, since pc users can use 1337 mouses that have macro buttons etc and gamer keyboards with special stuff to improve your skill, while PS users would always have the same remote.
Still this is a unexplored area, if some company brings up a good solution for this, I'd have no problem with it. But for now it would be just messy and unfair.
