Denied Banned usernames

Don't ask me how it's done but I've been browsing some bigger forums, seeing what features they have. I don't necessarily know how this one is done - either the admin is manually doing it or if there's a plugin that allows the upgraded users to do so themselves. Basically the ability to take on a banned user's alias as an upgraded feature. Perhaps for Diamonds. It's not something I'd use personally but with over 70k members I'm sure there's some neat usernames that have been banned. What happens to the banned usernames? Again I don't know, I'd have to look for the plugin or ask around. Perhaps it's renamed to something random. I was looking at our upgrade page trying to find some perks to really motivate people to either buy Diamond or work on getting it through their activity and we could use some new features. @green314 is onto something with his last suggestion. Gold is exiting, you're most likely working up to your first award, but what's exciting about diamond (other than the icon), really? You know what I mean? This is Sin's 10th anniversary, I'm thinking of ways to grow and retain members.

how about inactive? I'd take just Andrea it was never activated in 2019

I could be wrong, but wouldn't the admin have to do it manually? In which case I'd just reach out to Oni?

This was the bane of my existence on several forums before I eventually landed at SL. We call these OG names, like "Steve" or single letter usernames. Some of them were registered by bots, others by actual people, others still never confirmed their usernames. It's also referred to as "parking" usernames in some places. Twitter has a strict policy regarding parking usernames and you will catch an IP ban for it.

You're always welcome to message me if there's a particular name you'd like, but I handle these things on a case-by-case basis. There's been cases where members get banned, only to return 4 years later. As a policy, I avoid taking names from people.

Oh yeah I remember paying hundreds for IG handles, it was pretty wild. All of them got pulled so it was a waste anyway. I remember when the .me domains came out, people were registering dozens. I don't know if they ever gained value but yeah people will try to profit on everything, even usernames lol
