Deep Steg v1.0 is a Steganography tool that can be used to hide files inside the pixels of the images.

For those of you who don't know what Steganography is, you could read this thread which I made earlier in HC.

Can you post a virus scan?

I remember your tutorial, it was a pretty good beginner tutorial using LSB with Java.

Your application is a great contribution as well. Thanks for sharing.

*sigh*
Spoiler:
Just in case you are interested in an explanation: If someone posts a virus scan you still have to put work into verifying that the scan is legit and not a fake one. That means comparing the checksum with the checksum of the file you have and looking at the actual scan on the website where it was done. So why don't you just scan the file yourself in the first place? This is less work for you compared to doing everything I described right before that. If you trust virus scans that where posted by anyone, you are vulnerable. Don't do that for your own safety.

On a sidenote: Valid scans also don't mean the file is clean, it just might be undetected. For Java bytecode there are (as far as I know) no good heuristics yet to detect a zero-day malware.

My suggestion: Use a VM to run suspicious executables.

The download link for Deep Steg contains the sources. So you can just read them, look what they do, and compile them yourself.
I vouch for @"The Arcanist" that Deep Steg is clean.
