Cyber Repair Shop Brainstorm #1
Hello everybody! Its exciting to be part of this forum and community.

I fell in love with computers from an early age, However business opportunities in America is somewhat of an improper investment at the moment and have chosen not to establish my computer business in my home country. My full vision of my computer store, involves a considerable innovating store which fixes smart devices. Mainly smartphones and personal computers of course. Besides these services I would like the store to offer great computer parts and accessories. I have taken a look at the competition in my business’s new Country and city of choice and birth. (Its Mexico). And the services are not that complete and take too much time, the pc, laptop, and phone accessories are not good quality, and the stores themselves are not appealing to the eye (which is something I believe is a must in a tech store, even a small one.)

Being bilingual and having connections I have been able to establish a firm presence in a key trading city, where I have allocated funds to open my first Cyber store. I wanted my first post to be an open discussion on how to make the best Cyber store. Starting small of course but envisioned for growth and scale. What is your suggestion on what items to sell, what services to offer, how to decor. I genuinely would like to my business to be treated as an open source project, where all ideas are brought forward, the most efficient or practical are chosen, and the creation is produced. If your interested in the project contact me! Let us see our creation born. I will still follow up if the public is at least slightly interested.

I believe we live in an age of opportunity, despite the many difficulties we as a species have encountered the last few years. I'm happy to meet all of you, and eager to read your thoughts and ideas. Enjoy the rest of your day folks.

PS: If any have any doubts as to whether starting any tech related business in Mexico is a good idea; take a look at the following research. https://datareportal.com/reports/digital-2022-mexico

Create some listings on Craigslist, use Facebook Ads, or put up physical posters offering cash on the spot for damaged phones. Most people who come to you are looking for quick money and will generally accept below market price. It's ideal if the only damage is to the screen, as ordering a new assembly costs ~$30 for most models. However, even a completely dead phone can provide value in its use for parts in repairing other ones. Repair phones, place the newly functioning ones for sale in your shop, and make an easy profit. I personally do this all online and make ~$100 profit per phone.

You could also offer repairs as a service once you know what you're doing. Charge $80 to repair a cracked screen that costs you $30 and an hour of time to replace, that's $50/hr, more than what most jobs will pay.

These principles apply to nearly any consumer electronic, but I find phones have a low barrier for entry and make high margins. Best of luck to you, I'm always available for advice by PM as well!
