Custom/Translated Code from Windows to Linux. Is it worth it? 03-25-2021, 05:44 PM

Here's the gist of it.
I've started Coding in Gambas 3.x on GNU/Linux for a little while now, there's not much information available (1 Ebook and 1 Website Guide) from what I've gathered so far.
The rest are written in Spanish and I don't understand or Speak Espanol.
Basically I'll start with a Basic Keylogger, FTP, SMTP & Telegram Bot.
Since Gambas is BASIC, and was built to be the same as Visual Basic 6 but with extra/Better features, since Gambas is always updated in the Repo's, and it's considered an Alt for Windows' VB6.
Gambas only compiles into GNU/Linux Binaries, it won't compile for Windows.
I want to take the code from an existing VB6, and completely custom code it into Gambas, while also learning more about the fundamentals of the Kernel and how it interacts with the Hardware.
Is it really worth it though? Is it possible to fully translate from one to another? I can definitely work from the Documentation and ask around but am I wasting my time?
Thanks!
