On topic: this would breach people's human rights and is morally wrong. Why do we want to keep criminals alive for a later date? They aren't serving a punishment, their mental state will be the same. This is no different to execution, but worse.

itd be useful if you could keep someone conscious but preserve the body for that extended period of time, as for a punishment for the criminals who get like, 1000+ year sentences and then commit suicide like pussy bitches without paying for their crimes.
