When I get tired of playing one of the new games that has come out or all the games start looking alike, I dig out one of my emulators and play an old Atari or Commodore 4 game on my laptop. I've got a gamepad that I use as a controller. Some of the games I still play, like Raid Over Moscow, Uridium or Streetfighter are still so amazingly playable.
There's an emulator for just about every old console and arcade machine and then you can find the various ROMs of old games by doing a google search.
Try WinUAE, the old Amiga emulator or MAME, the arcade emulator.
