If I'm just in a public place can the police ask me to leave? Because it's a free country and I can stand and walk where I want. I do live in Europe btw.

This would depend largely on the country and what the public place is. I would imagine that on private property you could be asked to leave by police with threat of trespassing charges. In a truly public space, if the police asked you to leave an area, that is public property and they would likely be allowed to request you leave as well.

I don't think it is likely in public space, but that's solely based on my assumption of how European property laws work based on American property laws.

I'm from Belgium. I was basicly watching a video on youtube where someone's confronts a scammer and rings the door. He called the cops and the cops asked them to leave. But they were standing on the road so basicly they could just stay there? Without getting arrested and ignoring the police?

They couldn't really leave the sidewalk or the road, however if they were harassing the person at home, they could be asked to leave and stop harassing them, and if they don't then they would probably be charged with causing a public disturbance or harassment, but no trespassing charges.

In all purposes, you are technically allowed to be at a public place at any and all times of the day unless otherwise specified by an official.
