Hey HC

I figured, since I've had it lying around since forever, that I'd upload it here for everyone to play around with.
Basically, Stick Fight is a game I wrote in a day, in my programming week, and afterwards I improved it a little here and there.

Technical info:

• Developed in Visual Studio 2010
  
• Minimum requirements are unknown, but presumably very low.
  

Also, I haven't had time to make an AI, so currently it is PVP. Controls can be found in 'Settings'

What you do with it is completely up to you, but if you publish it somewhere else, PLEASE give credits .___.'
Also, I take no responsibility whatsoever for what you do with the source code. I mean, I know it can't really be rewritten into a virus without HEAVY modifications, but... Just so we're clear ^^

This belongs in the .NET forum. C# is not related to C/C++ or ObjectiveC at all...

Also, it's a nice game but the code is messy. I'm seeing variables that aren't even being used, redundant/empty default switch branches, and many other things.

Apparently when I moved this one several hours ago, I originally thought it to be the other one whilst getting sidetracked as this was originally in the correct section before I moved it.

I just perused the Moderator Logs to figure out how I allegedly managed to misplace this thread.
As it turns out, I did *not* in fact move it from here to begin with.

Yea, I agree that the code may not be, performance-wise, the best code out there x) I haven't really had time to bother that much with performance optimization yet.

And in regards to the section, I wasn't really sure what section to post in, but I figured that since C# was a branch of C, it belonged more under the C & C-related section, rather than .Net. But alright, my mistake ^_^

Technically, C#'s (C Sharp) has similar coding to C++ influence wise and was created as M[ostly]S[hoddy]'s (infer Microsoft) answer to Java originally.
As such, it could've stayed in the original section by that very technicality, again because it is a C Like Object Oriented Language.
However, like so many others here, I prefer the simpler, more direct route by way of definition pertaining to it's specific use within the Net Framework, Visual C#, and Mono typographies.
Thus, logic dictates it to be moved to it's current location.

Meanwhile, ArkPhaze's critique is merely pointing out what you've already made note of. Not to mention I secretly download alot of the material here to play around with without actually publicizing that fact normally.
Thus, this too shall be among those as well.

Syntax wise, is the only similarity between C# and C/C++. Everything else is not even close to the same as C/C++. Those languages also do not use the .NET framework (exclusive of managed C/C++,Visual C/C++). C# uses the .NET framework though just like VB.net. I'm shocked that you are of the belief that "C# was a branch of C" though. For your own benefit I encourage you to learn about the CLR and look into how C# applications run Windows. C# deals with the CLR for various reasons and with standard C/C++ you don't have that, so thus memory management, exception handling, etc... All has to be manually taken care of. VB.NET and C# also compile to MSIL and are JIT compiled at runtime. (Obviously this means that they require more memory for this reason.)

Like @Linuxephus mentioned though, there's really nothing similar about C# and C, or C# and C++, other than their syntax.

The reason why I mentioned this belongs in the forum "Visual Basic and .NET Framework Family" is because it's a forum for the popular Visual Basic, but also inclusive of .NET framework languages.

@ArkPhaze If I remember correctly Unity3D game engine uses C# so mostly the game made with that engine are pretty good so why C# is not considered good for gaming industry? Are there any glitches with the code or is it the people who don't know how to cope with this language.

With Unity you can write stuff using Mono C# or JavaScript I believe. Unity is a great engine for independent game programmers though. Who has time to create their own physics engines and everything on their own? Usually larger gaming companies are the ones doing this, but as an individual I can guarantee that nobody has the time to do that...
