Business Education - Economics, Marketing, Accounting, and More #1
0. Introduction
Spoiler:
This curriculum will give you a well-rounded general education in business, using free educational resources available across the Internet (you will have to create accounts to access the courses). You can educate yourself on economics, marketing, accounting, and written communication. If you have any issues with this curriculum, want to recommend a learning material, or want something changed, please reply to this thread, and I will be happy to help you with any concerns.

You should try to get as much as possible out of every book and course. Read and watch all provided resources in the courses, take notes, complete all of the quizzes and tests, and genuinely try to understand what is going on. If you need help with anything, you can reply to this thread, send me a private message, search the Internet for answers, etc. Feel free to ask me for help on anything.

1. Business Fundamentals
Spoiler:
Course: https://www.edx.org/course/business-foun...ubcx-bus1x

This will teach you key concepts in business, as well as basic business foundations and basic business functions. Do not worry about the "Live Case" advertisements and the sections attempting to persuade you to purchase a certificate. These are just marketing tactics to get you to pay.

2. Economics
Spoiler:
Book: Economics By Paul Krugman, R Wells

Micro Economics

Course: https://www.edx.org/course/fundamentals-...x-eco-1x-0

Book: https://laecon1.lyryx.com/textbooks/OPEN...-2017A.pdf

This course provides a great introduction to microeconomics. It will teach you concepts such as opportunity cost, equity, equilibrium, elasticity, supply and demand, etc., all with easy-to-follow examples. The eBook, on the other hand, provides a complete education in microeconomics. While reading the book, you can search the Internet for concepts that you do not understand, or you can reply to this thread and I will help you to the best of my abilities.

Macro Economics

Course: https://www.edx.org/course/apr-macroecon...acapfull-1

Managerial Economics: https://www.managerial-economics-club.com/

This is a big course that builds on top of microeconomics, covering concepts in macroeconomics. Managerial Economics is the actual realistic application of economics; applied economics. The provided website can give you an introductory grasp to these foundations.

3. Marketing
Spoiler:
Course: https://www.edx.org/course/marketing-management

This course will introduce you to the marketing mix, distribution channels, promotion, consumer behaviour, advertising, and more.

4. Accounting
Spoiler:
Course: https://www.edx.org/course/introduction-...-busacct1x

Course: https://www.edx.org/course/financial-acc...your-fears

The first course will give you a solid introduction to basic accounting concepts and practices. The second course is more oriented towards financial accounting.

5. Business Writing and Communication
Spoiler:
Book: The Elements of Style

Book: Business Writing

These two books will dramatically improve your written communication. Good writing, good grammar, and great vocabulary are a necessity in successful business. The second book is massive; it has six-hundred-sixty-sixty pages. The second book deals more specifically with professional business writing, while the first is simply for improving your general writing skills.

This is indeed very interesting, and that everything is free is a big plus. I studied Business and Accounting when I was in high school, though this looks way more advanced. I'm not sure everything would apply to European laws and stuff but I'll defintly be looking into this.

Thanks for the share man, keep it up! Also thread is nice aligned.
~~ Might be back? ~~

I took Economics this past year. I took macro and micro. I used Krugman's Economics and I would recommend it.
A simple search yields the pdf. Also that with solid studying should easily yield good results.

Thank you! As for European laws, most of these courses do not dig too heavily into law. I tried to exclude law as much as possible from this thread, due to the variety of nationalities on this forum.

Hello,

I have finished both courses by Jeff Kroeker. In June, he was lecturing Kenia students with his Sauder Social Entrepreneurship program (basic business skills). Any updates about the dates of Accounting courses in 2020?

I also studied business and accounting, I finished university 12 years ago. To be honest, now the teaching method and the subject are much more interesting and interactive. I remember when I was walking with thick exercise books, and we only had one computer per group. It was a bit difficult then, and now you can learn on your own, you become your own teacher. Interesting.  However, my studies helped me a lot, and now I work at Szweda Consulting, I help others with the taxes and accounting of their business.
