He should've got a much higher fine and some community service.

That's fair enough, It's your opinion and like all of us, you're certainly entitled to It.

My question (to anyone) Is, what If It had have been a human child, and he/she was paralyzed? What If It had have been (for example) your child? Would a fine and/or community service suffice? A dog Is a living creature too, hence In terms of abuse, there's no difference.

Unless and until an example Is set with harsher penalties (such as being locked up), acts like this will continue to happen.

I see your point of view.

If it was a human child, they should go to jail for many, many years.

I believe the life of a human is more valuable than any other living creature's life, but I guess that is just my opinion.

TL;DR. Maybe he should go to the slammer and serve some time.

It's a hard situation to be conclusive on Imposing the appropriate sentence.

I understand where you're coming from, and do see reason with your point too. Perhaps 5 years (as I've mentioned) Is a little too harsh. But I do believe, no matter how little, he should've served some jail time- just to set a precedent to those who think they can get off with just a fine.

Sigh.
No, five years isn't too harsh. Justify anything less. You can't.

This is legitimately fucking infuriating. How do these sick fucks do this... and only get a fine. The judicial system threw some non-violent and non-destructive hackers in jail for 5-10 years, but you severely, severely injure a defenseless animal and get a fine. What the actual fuck.

People were signing a petition to get this case reviewed again.

Looks like their original sentence was "their sentencing of 21 weeks suspended for two years, and a tagged curfew for six months".

What is so magical about 5 years anyway?

What kind of unnecessary question is that?
