Would be tempted to go AMD just for the sake of supporting their market share if they didn't botch FidelityFX and RT implementation. Their rasterization price to performance is unreal which is great, but these days any RTX card from the 3060ti up can run smooth at 1440p on just about any settings any game. Now I want the ability to turn on raytracing and not have my card shit the bed, which essentially requires a 3080 or up unless it's Minecraft, and the bottom end RTX card will get the same performance as the top end AMD card with RT on. Hopefully RDNA 3 changes things but doubtful. Need the 4080 price to drop 300-400$ ideally, which hopefully AMD can force. Don't even care about the FPS the 4080 puts out, just the power efficiency.

I've noticed recently that individual RX 6000-series cards are jumping up in price, and are more frequently out of stock. I would think things will die down once the holidays are over, and the RX 7000-series has been out for two to three months.
