I was out for a drive today to burn an hour; took a nice cruise in the country with the dogs. On my way back I went to slow down to make a turn, and the brake pedal went straight to the floor. not fun! Now I'm grumpy cuz I don't know if I should fix the thing or get a new vehicle since this one is old and rusty and tired anyway.

Never a dull moment right? I'll be taking the motorcycle for the next few days it seems.

Ouch.. got any idea how much it's gonna cost to repair it, as compared to just replacing the whole thing with a working used car?
If it's as old as you're implying it is, you should probably just replace it to be safe. No idea when something else will break...

If I fix it myself I can probably do it for around 50 bucks or so. It' just more of getting the time to do it. If I take it in, probably like $400. It's a 99, so it's like a 15 or 16 year old vehicle. I've been shopping for a new vehicle for literally a couple months now. I have another car that needs work too that I could fix and drive. Too many projects and not enough time lol

it's not good, but it could have been a LOT worse. Thank god it didn't have to panick stop to try and avoid a collision, and have it blow out then. I'm glad it blew while we were in the country with only a couple cars around. It was probably the safest brake line blow out evar, short of it happening right in the driveway, lol.

Just gotta take the good with the bad, right?

I'm almost always in the same boat. I'm always working on either my car or a family members. I enjoy working on cars I just hate that I have to work on the car. Some day I want to buy an old muscle car and do something crazy with it. Like build a combustion turbine engine.
