Dude, I seriously would love to go to Blackhat and Defcon. Blackhat really isn't all about illegal hacking @Jinxed . Yes some of it is questionable, quite a bit, but it would still be an amazing experience being surrounded by such skilled and smart people. I hope I can go to some conferences one day, would be awesome.

@Jinxed Blackhat conference is hardly 'black' its the main conference for security professionals, whereas Defcon(which runs immediately after Blackhat) is the main conference for hackers.

Personally I'm more fond of Defcon and will be there, but not at Blackhat.

EDIT: also worth mentioning that blackhat is often more technical than defcon. Both conferences post presentations online so imo the main reason to go to the conferences are the extras

Black Hat is expensive as hell. Then again, Defcon was pretty expensive for me. Defcon was fun, but not worth the amount I paid. I went with @"TheMercenary" one year.

Come on - you act like you're rich... the tickets are like 200$! I attended a Software Developers conference a few weeks ago with ticket prices set @ 999$
