Today I learened there is a difference between the Tor service itself, the Tor browser, and setting up manual proxy chains. I also set up a vpn for free today and managed to get that setup manually as well. Though Im not sure why my teacher said its rather redundant to use both, proxy chains and a vpn at the same time. Maybe I miss understood him, or the lesson itself. perhaps someone here can clarify?
Firefox is pretty cool, I have certain addons that help with anonymity. discovered:
privacy badger
decentraleyes
disconnect
ublock origin
https everywhere
I have messed with umatrix as well but that will break websites if you dont know how to set it up correctly.
All this helped me to understand more of how browsers and the Internet itself work.

Hundred percent go with Firefox. If you can get around the hassle of it crashing it's the best option for privacy and simplicity.

Throwing out a recommendation for Palemoon. Firefox fork that doesn't suck nuts. KDE's default browser, Konqueror, is pretty nice too. A tad rough but super fast.
