I would always recommend starting with a genre and going from there. What kind of movies or shows do they normally like? Mystery thrillers? Splice of life/dramas?

Once you know what genres, it's easier to provide a suggestion to beginners.

Anime is for everyone, but everyone isn't into all types of anime xD
