So let me give you a little background first.
Me and my bestfriend who we an call Jake in this thread, has been a long-time friend whom I call a brother. We grew up on the same street together and have been friends for about 16 years now. I'm 18 years now right now. Jake's cousin, who we'll call Kate in this thread, is also a childhood friend of mine that I've known for 9 years now. Me and her never dated, but she grew madly in love with me when we were like 11 or 12. Well, puppy love. I never wanted to be with her because I didn't want the relationship to affect me and Jake's friendship. Even as we grew older to 15 and 16 she was hard in her feelings for me. Even then, I defended my decision to keep her as just a friend because we were so close that I was afraid an intimate relationship could damage us. We'd lived close by and we hung out literally every weekend, and a few days during the week after school. We know every little thing about each other. We have incredibly embarrassing memories, we know each others fears, we listen to the sane music, and we both have a passion for traveling. Anyways, our friendship is beautiful.
So tonight she graduates high school... We are both the same age, except I graduated last year early. I spent hours at the mall today picking out a gift for her big day and found the perfect thing. After the ceremony the entire family was taking pictures and we all had a turn at giving hugs and gifts.
Today, I finally told her I wanted her to be mine and I wanted to start our adulthood together. That turned to an immediate kiss, yes, and a few tears. I think it's time for us to give it a shot, and I love her to death. That family kind of loving. She's absolutely shocked still and just got off the phone with me. She's MADLY in love.
Really happy tonight. Great vibrations in the air.
