Personally I used to listen to phonk a lot before it blowed up on tiktok, I really loved old phonk, but now i like house phonk better.
Thanks to tiktok for blowing this underrated genre up and making the competition more fierce thus increasing the quality of songs.
Suffering builds character.

Back in 06 me & friends used to bump mixtapes by K.Dot. Years later he became who is now known to the world as Kendrick Lamar. Funny thing is I used to say despite his talent I didn't think he would blow up because he was too lyrical for mainstream appeal. Man was I wrong lol.

Al.divino / cvv.vino
Painted the album cover for peace fly god from Westside Gunn
Check out his band camp there’s 39 projects since 2017. He does trap and boom bap but more underground - mind you some of his albums cost a few hundred but you can download it free elsewhere

PinkPantheress before she blew up with songs like "Pain" and "Boy's a Liar"
Tinashe back in 2014 right before Aquarius dropped
Tyler, The Creator in 2009 with Bastard then watching Yonkers drop.
Probably my favorite thing about music is finding a new artist and getting to watch them drop a new project when it comes out. I also love meeting them at shows.
