Anyone around here keep/have chickens? I'm planning to get some soon once I get a shelter built and the feed stores have chicks in.

I live at an apartment, so definitely not... I don't know anyone that does. My family has a couple of cows, though.

OT: On a serious note, It'd be a little... difficult to keep chickens, or any kind of livestock here in urban Britain.

I dream about a chicken farm since a little child. Leaving in a green village, having animals around (chickens, cows, dogs), a beautiful house and I won't even think about the time passing and about aging. Chickens are great for the begginer farmers since they are not hard to maintain. They are even cheap to get and you can find them everywhere. Finally, my dream becomes reality. I'm waiting for the sheld from Bison Construction (https://bisonconstructions.com.au/steel-...-workshops) that should come this week. I already bought a few chickens and keep them outside. I'm interested in some tips and tricks on how to keep them healthy, I know that a lot a chickens die from different viruses (or other reasons that you can tell me) .

I had chickens as a kid, until my dad decided to make dinner out of them. I still clearly remember crying for hours on end.

in high school my best friends mom manipulated us both to building her a chicken coop and to this day she still has that stupid ass chicken hut lol...

i havent owned chickens myself but thought it would be funny to tell you i havent dont anything with my porch lately so this spring i noticed a bunch of branches and leaves on the floor and three weeks later i see pigeons ... three pigeons to be exact. one momma and two babies. i let them stay and havent bothered them. they are kinda cute tbh.
