Add a Lua forum in the programming section #1
Lua is one of my favorite scripting languages. Lua is (and can be) actually very widely used across many different categories of things. It can be used for games, embedded devices, and even application development. It is an extensible extension language and it focuses on development for multiple languages. Hell, you are also able to use it as a data description language (like XML, JSON, and etc.).

ROBLOX also uses their own modified version of Lua. Therefore, I like to release Lua scripts and stuff. My point is, Lua is a great language and it is getting even more popular as the days go by. I think it would be a good addition for the site if it was added as an official forum in the programming section. That's pretty much all I had to say regarding that.

Anyways, thanks for reading my suggestion. Have a good day/night!! Cool

Being entirely honest, I like the idea that we've got more programmers coming to the forum, but I don't think we have the memberbase for an entire Lua section just yet. As far as I know, only you and @"Ender" know it.

Lua's really nice as an embedded language and game scripting language, but it's not used much on it's own. I think this has been asked before, but there wasn't enough Lua users then, and there still isn't.
Now, if we could have a Go section...

As mentioned, due to the lack of activity, a dedicated forum Is not warranted.

All discussions not relative to the existing sections belong In the Coding forum.

There's not even a Javascript section and we're going for Lua now? But seriously, I don't see it getting much action, but glad to hear other opinions because more coding and less anime and se would be nice for me.

Agree, particularly with the latter.

Hopefully Skryptec's thread can alleviate questions and concerns, and we can start to see activity generated constructively where It's needed most- with the Inclusion of the coding section. Of course, member competency Is of significant Importance.

I know Lua as well, but I agree with you that we shouldn't make a new section just for Lua.

Why not? The .net framework, C/C++, and other languages have their own sections on here. People aren't gonna be active regarding Lua on a site without a Lua section (such as this site). The only way to make something active on this forum (hell, any forum at that) is to at least introduce the topic. That's just what I think about it.

I truly do believe Lua deserves its own section.

Unfortunately, it's not giving me that option.
