[AV] Hataraku Maou-sama! [Review] #1
[Image: T7mMq7y.jpg]

Hataraku Maou-sama! is personally a pretty funny anime for me. I shared my laugh and giggles with the corny jokes. My friend introduced me to the anime. His words "It's pretty funny" I am a fan of comedy animes, So I gave it a shot. It's revolves around a demon-lord who goes by the name Sadao Maou. Who is sent to the modern Japan. Where magic is ceased to exist. Accompanied by one of his loyal general Shirou Ashiya. Conquering the world is the only skill that the demon-lord possesses. It is more likely unnecessary for his new situation. Currently working at a fast food restaurant MgRonalds. A restaurant named MgRonalds? That's pretty funny. I can already know that this anime will show a lot of funny moments.

Story :
Spoiler:
Every episodes is executed nicely and although sometimes the pacing can be a little too slow, it doesn't really affect the overall enjoyment of the story. New characters are added every few episodes to fuel up the already laughter-packed demon lord's "stronghold" and workplace. Some action scenes are also available in Hataraku and being the pure comedy anime as it is, viewers will be amused to how it. managed to slip some really hilarious lines in the middle of a heated battle scene.

Art :
Spoiler:
Although it is not a very spectacular one, the art is good, leaving a little to no room for complaint. Other series this season such as Suisei no Gargantia and Railgun S have better artwork in my opinion. The animation is made by White Fox studio (Steins;Gate, Katanagatari), another good job by them.

Sound :
Spoiler:
I really like the opening song of this anime, ZERO!! by Minami Kuribayashi. The first 4 episodes' opening animation are just a compilation of the scenes present in those episodes. But starting from episode 5 onward, Hataraku has a new opening animation which is not just a compilation of scenes and it's another plus for the OP.
Some notable voice actors/actresses such as Yoko Hikasa and Shimono Hiro made this anime very lively and the voice acting blends really well with the character's personality.
BGMs are also well-adjusted to every situations, mostly you'll hear some dorky tunes to accompany the comical scenes.

Characters :
Spoiler:
The characters have varied personality. From your wicked demon lord turning to be more human-like than most humans, his loyal and upright demon vassal, the temperamental and always yelling hero to your average-in love school girl and another demon vassal who is a noisy and demanding brat. Every characters plays an important role to build the unique, funny atmosphere in Hataraku.

Enjoyment :
Spoiler:
Some episodes made me laugh and other episodes made me laughed so hard. That's the kind of enjoyment I feel from Hataraku. It really serves its purpose as a comedy anime, not by some cheap harem scenes, perverted fantasies, or girls stuffing their boobs to the male character. Hataraku serves you unique characters, funny faces, comical situations, ridiculous arguments, spin-off of world famous brands (there are more spin-offs other than MgRonalds) and hilarious lines ready to make your day.

Overall :
Spoiler:
Overall, I enjoyed every moment of this anime. Hataraku Maou-sama has always cheered me up when I'm feeling down. It has really exceeded my expectations as a comedy anime. I recommend everyone to watch this if you're feeling under the weather.

8/10
Not just I, but everyone misses you.
