8 GB RAM isn't enough for AAA games anymore. Not with all the features on modern games and the increased demand for ray tracing. In fact, if you try to run a game like Horizon Zero Dawn you will maybe be and to run 1080p at high settings but you'll have issues with shadows and frame rate (you'll get lucky at around 40fps). In my opinion, you don't need 4k, only if you're playing on a monitor at 50" in. But most people play on 30" in. or something. 1080p on 8GB RAM is doable but not ideal.

RAM has gotten very cheap nowadays. You can get amazing sticks of RAM for under 50 pounds. The RAM in question is Crucial Ballistix Gaming Memory. You can get 8GB for 45 sometimes, and 85 for 16GB RAM. This RAM is known in the community as easily overclockable. You can buy 3000mhz CL16 and overclock it easily to 3600mhz CL 16. There's calculators that make it super easy. Definitely recommended when choosing AMD platform. At these prices getting 16GB is no brainer really. And I assume RAM is super easily SE'ed.

I certainly agree, the cost of Ram has significantly decreased.

I remember a couple of years ago, a 16 GB stick (Crucial, Kingston) was retailing for around 250 pounds. Nowadays, you can pick one up for 80 pounds.

I ended up purchasing one of these today, it'll arrive tomorrow. Needed something to replace my Asus that failed. Thankfully I have a full backup. Evil
